Judy Mozen, president of Roswell-based Handcrafted Homes, Inc. (www.handcraftedhomes-inc.com), has won the first-ever “Remodeler of the Year” OBIE Award presented by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHB, www.atlantahomebuilders.com). Mozen was honored for her 40 years of providing exemplary custom home design, construction and remodeling services to homeowners throughout metro Atlanta and the north Georgia mountains. The annual OBIE Awards, which began in 1980, are the premier awards given in Atlanta to recognize outstanding achievement in new home building, home remodeling, marketing and personal achievement. The new Remodeler of the Year Award is a Personal Achievement Award.
“I am so thrilled to win this new OBIE award,” said Mozen. “For the past four decades, my company has focused on providing the highest level of customer service possible. We believe in transparency with our clients at all times, and hire the most skilled and trusted professional staff and contractors. I am very proud that over 60 percent of our work is with repeat clients, and am honored to have our work recognized by the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association.”
A strong advocate for diversity in the home building/remodeling industry, Mozen has been an active member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) since 2004, most recently serving as the national organization’s Chair of the Board. She is a NARI Certified Remodeler and Green Certified Professional, as well as an EarthCraft Builder and EarthCraft Remodeler. She currently serves on the Housing Institute Board of the GAHBA and is a Certified Professional Home Builder. In addition to this year’s OBIE award, she has received the OBIE Professionalism Gold Award, and her firm, Handcrafted Homes, Inc., has been the recipient of a number of NARI Atlanta Contractor of the Year awards, as well as the NARI Atlanta President’s Award.
The OBIE Awards, named after the obelisk shape of the actual award given, are announced every November by the Sales and Marketing Council of the HBA. According to the GAHB, OBIE Award recipients stand out among their peers and are recognized for their outstanding achievements.
