ATLANTA — Judy Mozen, president of Roswell-based Handcrafted Homes, Inc. (www.handcraftedhomes-inc.com), has earned the prestigious Master Certified Remodeler designation from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).  Candidates striving for the professional designation must complete a process that measures skill and expertise valued by both industry peers as well as by consumers.  They are required to have attained the Certified Remodeler designation and retained it for at least a decade in order to be eligible for Master Certified Remodeler status.  The certification identifies home remodelers who have undergone comprehensive review and testing in the areas of business management, ethical conduct and technical skills.  In addition, candidates must have achieved at least one additional NARI certification and served in a NARI chapter and/or community leadership position.

“Achieving the Master Certified Remodeler designation from NARI is very meaningful to me,” said Mozen.  “It tells our clients and colleagues that I am committed to the highest level of professionalism within the home remodeling industry and that I value the role that professional education has played in the growth and success of Handcrafted Homes, Inc. for over 40 years.  I am very proud that over 60 percent of our work is with repeat clients, and am honored to have our work recognized through NARI’s Master Certified Remodeler program.”

A strong advocate for diversity in the home building/remodeling industry, Mozen has been an active NARI member since 2004, most recently serving as Board Chair for the national organization.  She is a NARI Certified Remodeler and Green Certified Professional, as well as an EarthCraft Builder and EarthCraft Remodeler.  She currently serves on the Housing Institute Board of the GAHBA and is a Certified Professional Home Builder.  Late last year, she was awarded the first-ever “Remodeler of the Year” OBIE Award presented by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association.  In addition, she has received the OBIE Professionalism Gold Award, and her firm, Handcrafted Homes, Inc., has been the recipient of a number of national and regional NARI Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards, as well as the NARI Atlanta President’s Award.
