A beautiful and imaginative Carving Studio created out of an under-utilized garage has won a Southeastern Regional CotY (Contractor of the Year) Award for Atlanta-based Handcrafted Homes, Inc. The project, undertaken for a Midtown Atlanta homeowner, won the category of Residential Interior Under $75,000 beating submitted projects from eight Southeastern states and the District of Columbia to win the Regional honors. The project will next be entered in the NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) National CotY Awards, where it will compete with projects from all over the United States.

Recognizing that the single-car garage in the older home was too small for its intended use, Judy Mozen, president of Handcrafted Homes, Inc., suggested transforming the garage into a dramatic, yet functional carving studio.
